Created to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit, Chinese New Year Bunny represents one of the twelve animals in the Chinese Zodiac.
Her wardrobe was inspired by Qing Dynasty fashion and includes:
A dress (qipao) with it’s classic Mandarin collar and frog button closures
A sleeveless vest, secured at the waist with ribbons and embellished with a ceremonial square rank badge depicting a horned dragon
A front-opening robe with horse-hoof shaped cuffs
A playful tunic with matching trousers (kùzi)
A small pouch (hebao) used to carry personal items
It took almost a year to design and sew Chinese New Year Bunny’s clothes and accessories.
How long will it take Chinese New Year Bunny to clean her room?
How long does Chinese New Year Bunny have to wait until she can go to the Jade Emperor’s tea party?
When will Chinese New Year Bunny meet another zodiac inspired critter?
Only time will tell…
